The Lady GODIVA Program
Celebrating Inspirational Women: The Lady Godiva Program
As the legend is told, Lady Godiva rode unclothed on horseback through the streets in protest of the taxation imposed on her townspeople by her husband, the Lord of Coventry. During her ride, the townspeople stayed indoors to preserve her modesty and thank her for her generosity. Lady Godiva's courage prevailed and the taxation was lifted. It is with that notion that GODIVA proudly celebrates the one year anniversary of the Lady GODIVA Program which celebrates inspirational women around the world. Our support of extraordinary women who embody the spirit of Lady Godiva through her attributes of selflessness, generosity and leadership is on both a national and local level.
Celebrating at a National Level
GODIVA will honor Lady GODIVA Honorees who exemplifies the values of selflessness, generosity and leadership at a national or global level. We will honor these women and support their causes through exclusive products, partnerships and other means of support and dedication. This program will allow GODIVA to support a variety of causes that are important to women. We are proud to honor Lauren Bush Lauren, Chief FEEDer and Co-Founder of FEED Projects, as our first National Lady GODIVA Honoree. Lauren and the FEED team have provided over 60 million school meals to children living in 62 countries throughout the world through the United Nations WFP. Lauren embodies the spirit of Lady Godiva through her commitment to charity and passionate leadership. Supporting at a Local Level
Again in 2013, GODIVA will recognize and award women in local communities who make a difference every day. The Local Lady GODIVA nominees will be featured on the Lady GODIVA Program website and through social media channels to inspire others to give back in their own communities. Three Local Lady GODIVA Honorees - one representing each category honored through the Program -- will receive a monetary donation toward their cause and an Annual Local Lady GODIVA Honoree will receive $10,000 to support her work.
